What's Next for the Ram Rebel? Meet the TRX Concept

Posted at Thu, Jan 18, 2018 12:05 AM
The 2017 Ram Rebel has been called Four-Wheeler of the Year. Yet Ram is always looking to make it more capable. The latest version is the TRX concept, a competitive all-around truck that may change the way we think about off-roading. Performance The current Rebel has a powerful 375-horsepower engine. The Rebel TRX Concept raises the bar with a supercharged HEMI that kicks out 575 horsepower. It is the most powerful factory-engineered half-ton truck ever. Just like the regular Rebel, the TRX benefits from a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. However, the concept truck adds a 4x4 Performance Control System for more aggressive handling situations. Durability To make the Rebel TRX more capable, Ram also has to make it more durable. Severe-duty components are used on the front and rear axles. These can stand up to off-road punishments. The front and rear shocks are bypass performance components that improve damping and response. The wheels boast 13-inch travel capability, a boost of 40 percent. The grille allows additional airflow for engine cooling. Looks The TRX is six inches wider than the regular 1500. Huge fender wheels allow for plenty of room for the 37-inch tires. The interior reflects its Rebel family ties, but it adds luxury leather and suede upholstery. Just in case, there are six-point harnesses to keep you from popping out of your seat. Find financing at your Ram dealer Opelika AL. Availability Perhaps the TRX will join the lineup soon.
