The Ford Raptor has returned to the market, and many truck shoppers want to know how it measures up to the champion Ram Power Wagon. We’ve been doing a little research at Bice Ram dealer Montgomery AL, and this is what we have found.

Price
You would think the medium duty Ram Power Wagon would cost more than the light duty Ford Raptor. Apparently not. In fact, one reviewer has noted that even if you start piling on extras, the price difference remains in favor of the Power Wagon. So, that is an off-road champion medium duty truck for less than a light duty off-road challenger!? Learn about pricing.

Performance
Ford is claiming an advantage in performance power, but Ram Power Wagons generate an incredible 410 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque. Keeping that torque controlled at low rev helps make the Power Wagon quite competitive. In fact, it claims tow ratings of more than 10,000 pounds. The Raptor is held to tow ratings around 8,000 pounds.
Off Roading
While the Ram claims a remarkable 14.5 inches of ground clearance, the revised Raptor stands at about 13 inches. The all-important wheel travel measurements show an even more marked difference. Ram has achieved a 26-inch wheel travel for the Power Wagon. Ford wheel travel is about half: 13 inches for the front and 13.9 inches for the rear wheels. That gives Ram a big advantage for maneuvering on difficult trails. Then there is the matter of fording through water. The Ram holds the record with a 30-inch water-fording clearance. Value your trade.
